Paul B McLendon, M.D. Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Shoulder and Upper Extremity Specialist
Dr. McLendon completed his orthopedic training at the world-famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the foremost leaders in the field of Shoulder and Elbow surgery. He then completed advanced Shoulder and Elbow training in Tampa, FL under the tutelage of Professor Mark Frankle M.D., a true innovator in the field of shoulder surgery and the first U.S. surgeon to patent a modern reverse shoulder replacement design. He spent this time managing some of the most complex shoulder problems referred from all over the country and was able to gain the training needed to handle any shoulder problem that he encounters.
Dr. McLendon’s journey towards becoming an expert in shoulder and elbow surgery began with his own shoulder injury, which was successfully treated surgically after many years of disability. Experiencing for himself the powerful impact that a successful shoulder procedure can have on a patient’s quality of life, he has since dedicated his life to learning the skills necessary to provide this same high level of care to others.
Dr. McLendon has multiple publications and presentations in the field of shoulder surgery, and is the recipient of various awards, most notably the prestigious ASES Cofield award, given at the largest shoulder course in the United States, the San Diego Shoulder Course. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, and is a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
